Gen Xer Christopher Malone Shares His Health Care Journey 2026

Kidney Failure, Sleep Apnea, Hypertension & Obesity

Hi, I’m Christopher Malone, a 50+ Gen Xer in Hemet, CA. Just a year ago, I was preparing to start dialysis. But my doctors were more concerned about my weight. I was considered obese, and we had to get that under control first.

Fast forward to 2026, and I’ve lost over 70 pounds without dieting. Instead, I changed my entire relationship with food, with the help of some nutrition courses and my wife, Kiesha.

Today, my sleep apnea is gone, my blood pressure is normal most of the time, and my kidney function has increased from 17% to 21%. Yes… increased.

According to my doctors, I may still need a kidney one day down the road, but I no longer need dialysis. And because I’ve taken control of my weight and health, I’m now a strong candidate for the transplant program.

Follow me as I share my health journey. My wife and I will share what’s worked for us, how we changed our relationship with food, and how we’re continuing to live healthier lives in our 50s.
